Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. This medication is used for the treatment of diabetes and weight loss. Brand names of semaglutide include Ozempic or Wegovy. This medication works by reducing appetite and delaying glucose absorption by slowing gastric emptying. This leads to feeling fuller longer, which contributes to increased weight loss. Other benefits of this medication are to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Terzepatide

Terzepatide contains two incretin hormones; GLP-1 and gastrin inhibitory polypeptide (GIP). GIP is a peptide that reduces glycemic levels and produces increased insulin sensitivity, while improving lipid metabolism. Essentially the more complex and effective version of Semaglutide. You may know this medication by the brand name Mounjaro.

HOW WE DO IT?

Step One: Initial Consultation

The process starts with a consultation with one of our providers. We offer visits in person to our clinic or by distance via Telehealth. Your health history will be reviewed along with a brief assessment and finally, an explanation of the process and medications available. If needed, laboratory testing will be completed to better tailor recommendations for you.

Step Two: Make a Plan

Working with our providers, we will select a medication that best fits your weight loss goals. When the selected medication is available, you will meet with a provider to go over administration of the medication, and to finalize your care plan. The aim is to create sustainable changes that last.

Step Three: Lose Weight

After treatment has started, you will meet with a provider monthly. During these visits we will review your progress, answer any questions and adjust medications dosages as needed. Our providers are available by text message or phone call between appointments as needed.
